Obituary for Ruth Rogers (Potter)
Ruth Potter Rogers, age 86 of Spencer, Tennessee passed from this life on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Ruth was born Friday, November 15, 1929 in Cleveland, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Auby Potter and Mae Childs Potter.
Ruth is survived by her:
son - Willie Joe Rogers Jr.
daughter - Melissa Carol Rogers
grandson - Matthew Beard
2 great grandsons - David Young, and Sam Grissom
6 sisters - Shirley Baker, Reba Simmons, Galdys Armstrong, Charlotte Potter, Lisa Potter, and Lois Grissom
2 brothers - Steve Potter, and Tommy Potter
several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Willie Joe Rogers Sr., daughter Sydney Elizabeth Beard, granddaughter Donna Carol Grissom, 2 brothers Auby Jr. and Alvie Potter, 2 sisters June Chavez and Stella Potter, and 2 sister-in-laws Yvonna Sutton, and Francis Northcutt.
A Funeral service will be at 2 PM on Sunday at Spencer Funeral Home with Bob McCoy officiating. Interment will be in Spencer Town Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 PM on Saturday, July 16, 2016, and 9 AM to 2 PM on Sunday at the Spencer Funeral Home, 16000 Hwy 111 N., Spencer, Tennessee.
