Obituary for Nora Alene Measles
Nora Alene Measles, age 87 of Spencer, Tennessee passed from this life on Sunday, August 13, 2017, in Spencer, TN.
Alene was born Friday, November 1, 1929 in Van Buren County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Simon Hodges and the late Lizzie Sparkman Hodges.
Alene is survived by her:
2 sons - Ronnie Measles and wife Vivian
Johnny Measles and wife Sandy
2 grandchildren - Bryan Measles and wife Kandi
John Curtis Measles and wife Jennifer
6 great grandchildren - Kyra, Peyton, Gage, Anna Grace, Ty Curtis, and Reagan
5 sisters-in-law - Billie Ruth Martin, Jean Sparkman, Rhea Davis, Emogene Hodges, and Joene Hodges
special niece - Shirley Haley
special nephew - Larry Yates
several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents, Alene was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Measles, a sister Audrey Yates, and 5 brothers Raymond Hodges, Charles W. Hodges, Hermon Hodges, Thurman Hodges, and Roy Hodges.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 16 at Spencer Funeral Home with Nathan Haynes and Tom Farmer officiating. Interment will be in Spencer Town Cemetery, Spencer, TN.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 PM on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, and again Wedensday 8 AM to 1PM at Spencer Funeral Home, 16000 Hwy 111 N., Spencer, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Spencer Town Cemetery. Donations can be given to Margaret Lovell 185 Turkey Scratch Rd. Spencer, TN 38585 or left at the funeral home for the cemetery.
