Maxie Helen Kerr, age 73 of Spencer, Tennessee passed from this life on Thursday, November 28, 2019, at Generations Center of Spencer in Spencer, Tennessee.

Maxie was born Tuesday, September 10, 1946 in Grundy County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late James Melton and the late Marilda Smartt Melton.

Maxie was a factory worker, she worked at Generations of Spencer. She was also a Librarian at the Public Library of Spencer several years ago. She loved to read and enjoyed the outdoors.

Joy Winnett and husband Wayne
2 brothers - Clyde Melton and wife Ernestine
Ray Melton and wife Shirley
sister-in-law - Barbara Melton

In addition to her parents, Maxie was preceded in death by her husband John Kerr, brother Alton Melton, 2 brother-in-laws Paul Taylor and Kenneth McGuire.

A Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Spence Town Cemetery with Brenda Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Spencer Town Cemetery, Spencer, TN.
