Mattie Lorene Russell, age 74 of Spencer, Tennessee passed from this life on Monday, September 9, 2019, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta.

Mattie was born Sunday, July 22, 1945 in Spencer, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Joe Shockley and the late Demie Martin Shockley.

Mattie is survived by her:
son - Tim Russell and wife Teresa
daughter - Kathy Ferguson and husband David
4 grandchildren - Matthew and Sandra Russell
Kevin and Kendra Russell
Tiffanie Ferguson
Jeffrey and Hilary Ferguson
9 great grandchildren - Morgan, Aiden, Madelyn, Annabelle, Mary Beth, Layden, Fallon, Haisley, and Glavine
sister - Nellie Bickford
Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

In addition to her parents, Mattie was preceded in death by her husband Albert Russell, 5 brothers James, Ray, Thomas, Johnny, and Floyd Shockley, 3 sisters Emma Lou Mealer, Mamie Ruth "Boots" Rice, Janice Swindell.

A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 12th at Spencer Funeral Home with Raymond McDonald officiating. Interment will be in Spencer Town Cemetery, Spencer, TN.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, and again Thursday from 8 AM to 1 PM at Spencer Funeral Home, 16000 Hwy 111 N., Spencer, Tennessee.
